Rose Petals by Laurel Poppy and Pine

This week I decided to choose embroidery fibers.  I've really had embroidery projects on the brain lately. 

1. Bathtubstudios - Pearl 5 Cotton

3.Yarnplayer - Embroidery floss in Neapolitan

4. Weeks Dye Works - Rose Quartz

5.PrairieGarden - Crewel Embroidery Fiber in cool blue water

I think this cross stitch quilt panel would look fabulous in these  variegated colors.

Fabrics selections from The Fat Quarter Shop:

It took me awhile to come up with my palette and prints but in the end I'm very pleased with my selections.

So I'm a little freaked out seeing these colors together, but I'm usually pleasently suprised at how  color palette choices can come together when applied to a quilt block design.

Fabric Color Choices based on Photo

So the Blue fabric was inspired from the sign on the bottom right.

Gray was from the cathedral.

Green for the trees

Black and grey bias from the shadows on windows

Orchid from the ladys shirt on bottom left-ish ( super small detail in picture)
